โ All resourcesThe 5-signal health score for teams without a CSM
A health score doesn't need to be clever to be useful. It needs to be applied to every account, every week. This one uses five signals you can find without a dedicated CS tool.
Score each account 0 to 2 on each signal below (0 = healthy, 2 = at risk), then add them up. The total is out of 10.
- 0 to 3: healthy. Nothing to do this week.
- 4 to 6: watch. Look at it again next week and note who owns it.
- 7 to 10: act this week. Book a real conversation.
| Signal | 0 (healthy) | 1 (some risk) | 2 (at risk) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Usage vs its own normal | Same or up | Down 10 to 30% | Down 30% or more |
| 2. Champion responsiveness | Replies within 2 days | Replies within a week | No reply in 2+ weeks, or the contact left |
| 3. Renewal proximity | 90+ days away | 30 to 90 days, recent conversation | Under 90 days, no recent conversation |
| 4. Support pattern | Normal | A spike | A repeat issue on the same topic, or total silence |
| 5. Exit-shaped questions | None | A pricing or contract question | A data export or cancellation question |
How to use it
- List every account in a spreadsheet, one row each, with a column per signal.
- Score each signal 0, 1 or 2. Compare usage with that account's own normal, not your average customer.
- Add up the total and sort from highest to lowest.
- For every account at 7 or above, name one owner and one action for this week.
- Repeat weekly. The habit matters more than the precision.
